Manaka Hataoka (畑岡愛佳) is a Japanese landscape designer based in New York, practicing at Field Operations. Through her practice, research, and observation, she explores cultural and ecological forces embedded in urban landscapes.
She holds a master’s degree in landscape architecture at Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a bachelor’s degree in urban planning from the University of Tokyo. She previously worked as a designer at Surfacedesign in San Francisco and interned at atseveral landscape architecture firms in cluding MVVA in New York, Studio Vulkan in Zurich and SLA in Copenhagen.
